Nearly a Century in Three Acts
Founded at Pasar Baru
Optik Seis opens its first store at Pasar Baroe in Batavia (today's Pasar Baru, Jakarta) — originally trading as Tjoen Lie en Co. That same store is still in operation today, nearly a century later.
National Expansion Begins
After fifty years at Pasar Baru, the second store opens at Blok M Melawai, Jakarta in 1977. National expansion follows through the 1980s — Bandung, Surabaya, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Manado — building the nationwide presence Optik Seis is known for today.
